Alice Monroe fluttered open her eyes to the rays of sun that flowed through her closed vertical blinds. She groaned, and turned over on her side with her burgandy quilt tossed over her head, hiding her from the blinding light of the sun. Although as much as she wanted to go back to sleep, she found herself listening to someone scrambling around the room. Assuming it was Lily Evans as always, she wrenched open the curtains that were closed round her bed. She rubbed her eyes and let her feet touch the floor as she let out a small yawn. As usual, Lily was fully dressed in her Hogwarts robes, sitting on her bed. The red head was reading a very large book, one that she had been reading since the start of term. She couldn't exactly see the cover, but if Lily was reading it then it was obviously very interesting. For her, that is. Alice wouldn't go as to say she wasn't bookworm, she loved a good book as much as the next person, but Lily just never got enough of them. Everytime Alice saw her, she was engrossed in a different book and she wondered if that's how she looked like when she was sketching. Many knew Alice had a passion for drawing just as much as Lily had a passion for her books. If she could, Alice would sit and draw forever, if she were allowed. There were probably over 1,000 sketches that she had drawn out herself here at Hogwarts. Not that she was keeping track, of course.
Stretching her arms high above her head, Alice stood up and headed for the bathroom. She came back out dressed in her school robesm as she searched around for her hairbrush. Not finding it anywhere, she quickly snatched up Lily's and pulled it through her long brown hair. Letting out a yawn, Alice wished there were no classes today. She didn't know how she was going to stay up during History of Magic. Professor Binns was just a snore, she didn't know how her friend could stay awake in that dreaded class. She heard Lily flip the page, her firned seemingly unawar that she had awoken from her sleep. Smiling, she crossed the room and sat herself on Lily's neatly made bed.
"Hello to you too," She said to Lily. "Interesting book?"
