| Place: The Black Lake Summary: Sirius is having a bit of fun with Lucius' cane Characters: Sirius and any others that want to be there Status: Open Date: November, 1975
'Such a beautiful day' Sirius thought to himself as he made his way down towards the Black Lake, his red and gold wool cloak proudly displaying his Gryffindor house. It was getting closer to winter so the air was quite cool, but that wouldn't put a damper on his spirits today, not in the least. For grasped in his left hand was an object that made him laugh everytime he looked down upon it, Lucius Malfoy's cane. It had been recently acquired during a Charms class a few days ago, and what he had in mind would surely anger the blonde lanky git even more. But did he care? Not in the least. The faint sound of crunching leaves under his feet, the distant calls of owls in the Owlery, and the calm undisturbed surface of the lake itself. It was a great day indeed.
Once he had arrived at his desired location Sirius looked out over the lake for a moment, exhaling a deep breath and watched as the release would form a small cloud of mist. Then the famous grin hit the corners of his lips as he brought the cane up to eye level and scanned over the object. He couldn't deny it had a certain elegance to it, but it was ridiculous nonetheless. He would shake his head, the long brown locks of his hair swaying back and forth in accordance. He would then slam it down onto the ground with a thud, proceeding to strut around the bank as if he were a high and mighty Lucius Malfoy. He was sure he looked like a complete fool but he really didn't care. Enough was enough however it was time to get to work. Stopping he would walk over and take a seat on an old stump a few feet away where he would wrap his fingers around the silver snake head, pulling it out, the wand attached to the serpents head made it appear as if he were unsheathing a sword. It was hilarious.
Sliding the wand back into the cane Sirius decided it was time he got to work. Luckily he had paid just enough attention in Transfiguration to know how to handle what he had in mind. He rested the cane on his lap, and looked out and over the lake once again, his gaze taking in the environment around him. He could hardly wait to see the reaction of Lucius but he had to take his time. Pulling out his wand Sirius grinned as he grabbed the cane in his hand once again and twirled it around one last time before getting to work. Throwing the object down to the ground in front of him Sirius stood from the stump and pointed his wand down at the cane, and as he did so the cane began hovering a few inches above the ground. A bright light followed and engulfed the cane, Sirius grinned all the while, he was sure the light would draw some kind of attention but he wasn't worried in the least. After all, it was what he had become known for, doing things out of the ordinary. He began humming a tune while he was hard at work, how he enjoyed his little pranks.
Finally a loud crack would echo throughout the landscape indicating his deed was finished, and there laying before his feet was the transfigured cane. Brown eyes marveled at the sight before them, the shiny black cane was no longer there, instead it had changed. Red and Gold stripes spiraled up and around the once black surface, the glossy sheen bringing the colors out all the more. Sirius' eyes lit up with delight, this was perfect! And the crowning jewel of his spell, resting atop the cane where the serpent's head hand grip used to be, it was now a golden head of a lion. A tear of joy trailed his cheek as he retrieved the cane from the ground and admired his work.

| It was a weekend so that meant there were no classes. Katerina spent a couple hours after breakfast in the Hufflepuff common room reading a Stephen King book entitled ‘Salem’s Lot. It was another story that made it seem like vampires were monsters. Yes, some where, like Dragomir Von Brandt, the bastard who changed her mother, but not all were. Through the years Kat has met many kind vampires. On a trip to Romania one year Kat had even heard about a vampire support group for vampires that needed help adapting to their new cursed transformations. It seemed muggle authors loved to depict vampires as cruel creatures; of course to them they seem so. What muggles do not understand they fear, like the Wizarding world, which is why the Ministry tries to keep the magic world hidden.
At about noon Katerina decided to head out to the lake. She had always admired the lake’s beauty. Though she thought sunset to sunrise were the best times of beauty for the lake, mid-day was still a good time as any to see it. It was a bit chilly outside so Kat changed into a long sleeve black sweater over the top she already wore and wrapped her Hufflepuff scarf loosely around her neck. The scarf barely shielded the cold with it being loose, but Kat had always had issues with things tight around her neck. She then left the common room with her schoolbag that contained her sketchpad, quill, ink, and a few books including the one she had been reading in the common room.
She walked down towards the lake, her bag hitting her side lightly with each step. The freshly fallen autumn leaves crunched beneath her shoes. She loved the colors autumn brought, the reds, oranges, and yellows. She was almost jealous of the Gryffindors’ house colors for they were scarlet and gold, two colors that Kat always adored on the leaves of the season. As she admired the colors around her, she noticed a figure of a person already at the lake. The person held what looked like a cane, one she almost found herself laughing at when she got a better look at it. As she neared she saw it had a golden lion head for a hand grip and had read and gold spiraled around its base.
When she finally approached the person she noticed it was Sirius Black, a seventh year Gryffindor, which would probably explain the cane’s lion head and colors. Though why he would have cane puzzled her. A cane seemed more fitting for some cocky Slytherin, but then again she had heard from some fellow Hufflepuffs that Sirius was a bit conceited. She had never gotten a chance to meet him herself, but she had seen him around school and he was quite the prankster.
“My, my, I have heard of house pride, but a lion cane?” She spoke walking to a spot where she could see his face. “Please say this is just another prank of the notorious Sirius Black. It makes you look like the Gryffindor version of that arrogant git Lucius Malfoy.”

| Oh the joy he was feeling at the moment, Sirius Black was beside himself with excitment. The look on Lucius Malfoy's face when he would see his precious cane would be one for the ages. Sirius proceeded to hold the transfigured object high above his head and allowed his gaze to look upon it once again, the noon sun reflecting off of the glossy sheen causing him to squint a bit as he did so. It was a shame he was out here alone, no one there to see what he had accomplished, but it was alright, he was enjoying himself nonetheless. Bringing the cane back down and placing it on the grass, Sirius began to strut about once more as if he were marching in a muggle army. Having so much fun he was unaware of the person now approaching the small area he had ventured to. As he walked about he began to hum a tune, how he wished Malfoy could see him right now, even though he knew Lucius would indeed come back on him with something, Sirius never worried about the consequences in the least. This was too good of a moment to sour with those kinds of thoughts.
In the distance he had heard a twig snap and instinctively he drew his wand whilst turning towards the noise. He never could be too careful anymore, given his famalies growing brutality and the rest of those Slytherin fools gall. A small sigh of relief followed however as he saw it was just a girl, standing there looking perplexed, and rightfully so given his behavoir just a few moments ago. Most people would have been embarrassed, but not Sirius Black, this was his style. Outgoing and never one to hold back his tongue. But the lass that stood there before him now was one he wasn't sure he had the pleasure in meeting. A shame too, given her beauty. Stowing his wand, he would walk over towards the stranger, his eyes taking in every inch of her form, the dirty blonde headed girl was indeed very attractive. Once he had gotten close enough Sirius took her by the hand, where he would place a soft kiss to the back of it, he wasn't sure how she would react but he figured being a gentlemen would work in his favor. Leaning over and onto the cane Sirius smiled gently at her, noticing the Hufflepuff colored scarf around her neck. "I don't believe we've had the pleasure in meeting." He began speaking, calm and collectively, "I'm Sirius Black, and who might you be?"
With his introduction out of the way Sirius pulled his cloak and scarf tighter around his body as a fierce wind blew, he had just now noticed how cold it was out. He was too emerged in his fun to notice earlier but he sure as hell did now. Even the mist of his breath as he exhaled seemed to freeze on the spot. But he wasn't going to let him being cold pry him from the lovely new addition he was now speaking with. And just as that thought passed she spoke referring to the cane he was leaning on. He laughed as she referred to Lucius, it seemed that impression spread like wildfire throughout Hogwarts, and hearing her words instantly put her up a few more notches. "This thing?" He asked rhetorically as he lifted the cane up and gave it a twirl before placing it back down to the ground. "Why yes it is Malfoy's, and I am indeed showing that prick what it's like when he brings his bigotry around me." His voice was slightly irritated as the thought of Lucius ran through his mind. "But enough about him, what say you and I take a walk? It's quite beautiful out here this time of year." And with that he offered his arm smiling all the while.

| ((omg the brain dead girl got 4 paragraphs out of her blonde head =P))
Katerina quirked an eyebrow questioningly as he placed a kiss on the back of her hand and introduced himself. The Sirius Black fellow seemed like a charming lad, more of a gentleman then Katerina expected from what she had heard from other girls and based on the hilarious pranks him and his friends were known for. Of course she had always heard he was a bit of a ladies man so his kindly behavior could be just an act of his. But never the less Kat smiled kindly and introduced herself. “Nice to meet you Sirius, my name is Katerina Van Buiren and no we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting before, though I do recognize you. I mean who wouldn’t; you are after all the King of Mischief around the school. You and your buddies are always in the spotlight.”
Katerina found herself hugging herself for warmth as a cruel wind blew. She would have tightened the scarf around her neck if she didn’t have issues with things tight around her neck. She probably should have grabbed her school robes or a cloak, but what she should have done had no importance to now for it was too late and she was already outside. Anyways the cold wasn’t too bad, yes it was cold as hell, well as could hell would be if it were of ice and not fire, but she would live. If she caught the flu or anything all she had to do was visit the Nurse and get a glass of blood, or if she was luckier a blood sucker since she did hated the sight of blood in liquid form. The thought of blood suckers reminded her she needed to restock during her next visit to the nurse.
Kat chuckled when Sirius told her that the cane was the one and only cane, slash wand, of that blonde git Lucius Malfoy. Oh if Malfoy could see his precious cane now, decked out Gryffindor style. The poor Slytherin would probably die of a heart attack, which sadly wouldn’t bother most of the students a bit. At least Sirius reasoning for transfiguring the cane seemed noble in Kat’s eyes. That Lucius Malfoy was one of the most prejudice wankers in the school. Self-righteous bastard, Kat thought to herself in disgust of the Slytherin. She was more than happy when Sirius said enough about him and suggested they go for a walk. Kat smiled thankful for the offer, nodded, and took his offered arm.
“It is beautiful,” Kat spoke looking around. “I love the autumn colors, all the mixes of reds and oranges. The lake looks even better this time of year when it reflects them.” She smiled and continued to look around. She loved the outside, it had a sort of serenity to it; the way the birds sing in the morning or the crickets chirp at night. All of it seemed for magical than magic itself sometimes. She turned to Sirius still smiling. “So Mr. Black, how did you get into the pranking business?”
