PostSubject: Shouldn't be here   Sat Jun 30, 2007 12:32 am

Date: October 1975
Location: Prefect's Bathroom
Status: Open only to other Prefects

Incomplete

Marlene cast a small worried glance around her as she swiftly walked across the empty school corridors. She stopped at a corner, tilting her head lightly to make sure the way was clear before turning around to make sure Dora was still following. It was well past their curfew, and she knew they could both get into trouble for being out of their common room at this time of the night - and getting into trouble was the last thing Marlene wanted to do. And yet, here she was, walking around the school at night, which was forbidden. And the reason why she was doing so was to sneak Dora into the prefect's bathroom, which was also forbidden. Overall, if they got caught, there'd be several detentions included in their punishment. Marlene didn't even want to imagine the scolding she would get for breaking the rules, considering the fact that she was a prefect. Of course, she wasn't all that uptight - she did break the rules once in a while and rarely put her foot down when her friends did so as well, but most of the time it was nothing important really, and they were sure they wouldn't get caught. This time, there wasn't only the risk of being caught by a professor or Filch, or even that stupid Mrs. Norris. If a Prefect happened to come across them in the bathroom, that would also mean trouble. And she really didn't want to be caught either. She knew she probably should loosen up a little and be more adventurous, but her childhood had taught her otherwise and she couldn't help but be the girl she had grown up to be.

Sighing lightly as she arrived in front of the door that lead to the Prefect's bathroom, she looked around one last time before glancing at Dora, raising an eyebrow lightly. Her friend was holding their costumes, which was the main reason why they had come all the way here. Dora wanted to try her costume without being seen by other people and the Prefect's bathroom seemed like a rather good place to do it - the fact that Marlene was a prefect had obviously helped with that plan, and when she had given in she had decided to do the same as her friend and bring her costume along as well.

"I'll check inside to make sure nobody else is there," she told her before turning to face the door and whispering the password that unlocked it.

Instantly, the door flew open and Marlene stepped inside the room, her footsteps echoing around the room as her heels clicked on the white marble floor. She looked around and sighed in relief when she noticed the room was completely empty - luck was on her side. Even the flirty mermaid, which never failed to tease her every time she came, was sound asleep in her portrait. Marlene turned around and headed back to the door, grabbing Dora's hand and hastily dragging her inside the room before closing the bathroom door, completely forgetting to lock it as she was still feeling slightly nervous.

"Alright so let's do this quickly," she said, biting her bottom lip lightly.

Dora quietly walked behind Marlene as she lead the way to the prefects bathroom. Dora had thought it rather a brilliant plan to try on their costumes here. There were so few that has access to this place they had a less likely chance of someone seeing them in their costumes before the start of the ball.

She had to stifle a giggle as Marley kept looking around the halls a fit frantically. Her friend was so afraid to get into trouble that Dora had to smile. She was always in trouble, ususally for running her mouth a bit too much with one of the Professors who dared to tell her she was wrong about something, or running her mouth to a certain few Slytherins when she wittnessed them tormenting someone on their blood status.

The next thing she knew she was being pulled into the prefects bathroom and she stopped dead upon seeing it. Martely had told her all about it but she never realized that it would look like this. It was absolutely breath taking. "Marley, it's beautiful." She said, her blue eyes scanning the room in amazement. She then snapped out of her gaze when her friend had said that they needed to hurry. She was right. Though Dora could care less about getting caught, she knew her best friend did.

Dora handed Marlene her costume and held her own tightly in her arms. "Alright, lets try these on and see how we look!" Dora said, hints of excitement in her voice. She had absolutely fallen in love with her dress and her tiara. She was not too impressed with having to spoil the look, in her opinion with the mask. "Are you sure that you are going to be able to do my hair like the picture I showed you?" She asked Marley, remembering the perfect hairstyle she saw while looking through one of her witch modeling books.

Marlene smiled at her friend's amazement when she saw the room, taking a glance around as well. With it's white marble walls and floor, along with the enormous bathtub and several decorations, it was a really gorgeous place. She loved coming here, especially for the peace and quiet that could be found. Most of the time, she came early in the morning - unlike the under prefects who prefered coming at night - so that she could relax just as much as she wanted to. Of course, she did not always come here, most of the time she used normal showers and bathroom, just like everybody else, but sometimes it was nice to be able to be alone a little. "It is very pretty," she agreed, smiling lightly.

She then held out her arms and took the costume Dora handed her with a light sigh, biting her bottom lip lightly. It had been one of the prettiest costume she had seen in the catalogue, and not too revealing - the others had seemed to have a cleavage that went too low, or a skirt that was too short. She wasn't really one to show her body very much - it was an habit she had taken in her earlier school days, when she still lived at home and had to wear longer shirts and pants to cover her bruises. And, since old habits die hard, she was still used to wearing clothes that covered most of her body, not really liking to show her skin though she wasn't exactly unhappy with her looks. However, whenever something looked too sexy for her to wear, she instantly dismissed it. The costume she had bought seemed just perfect, it didn't cover too much of her body but it didn't show too much either, and she was happy with this. Of course, she hadn't tried it on yet, but it had seemed nice on the pages she had been looking through with Dora. She then smiled at her friend as she asked if she would be able to do her hair just the way they had seen.

"Don't worry, I will," she said, smiling. "That is, if you can stay still long enough for me to manage it," she added slightly teasingly.

She looked around one more time and then sat down on the step that was next to the bathtub, taking off her shoes and socks before getting back to her feet to slip her jeans off, putting the skirt of her costume on and adjusting it on her hips. That part of the costume seemed to fit as she noticed happily. She pulled her shirt off, hastily putting on the one that went with the costume. She was not all that comfortable with being in only her underwear even in front of other girls, though she had had to often enough in the last few years. Finally, she put on the last part of her costume and turned to look in the mirror, tilting her head slightly and turning to the side to examine every part. The skirt was just perfect , though it was a bit tight but not too much. The top, however, seemed very fitting and it hugged her body curves a bit too much for her taste.

"I'm not sure about this Dora," she said after a small hesitation, biting her bottom lip lightly. "Don't you think the top is too tight?"

Dora continued to look around at the grande room and nodded as Marley agreed that it was pretty. "Seriously, if I would have known it was this nice in here I would have behaved myself a bit more with the hopes of becoming a prefect." After thinking on that thought for a moment she shook her head. "Na, getting into trouble is more fun that coming here, besides, I have you to sneak me in, right?" She gave her friend a teasing laugh and saw that she was beginning to get undressed.

Dora walked on the other side of the room, near a window with long curtains. She figured if someone came in while she was dressing, she could hide behind them. She removed her shirt and her jeans and carefully slid into her dress. She walked over to Marlene and asked her to zip it for her in the back and held her long blonde hair up. She turned her head to the side so she could still talk to her friend and see her a bit.

"Not sure about what?" Dora asked in a bit of a surprised tone. "Marley, you look gorgeous. That dress is very figure flattering." She let go of her hair she was holding up and turned to face Marlene. "Are you worried about the top? Because let me tell you, you fill it it perfectly."

"Do you really think you could managed to behave long enough to become a prefect?" she asked a bit teasingly. "And this sneaking in thing is a one time only Dora, especially if we get caught, which I really hope we won't," she said, looking around and biting her bottom lip. "Any other prefect could come in you know, most of them use this room during the evening," she sighed. She then shook her head lightly and re-adjusted her costume, pulling at the top lightly with a hesitant glance at her reflection. She then turned to her friend as she saw she was done changing and headed to her with a light smile.

She zipped up Dora's dress as she asked and smiled lightly. The dress was simply perfect for her, she looked like a queen in it - the color, the form, everything was simply flattering her body type. "You look amazing Dora, Sirius is simply gonna drop down at your feet when he sees you," she said, smiling softly at her friend. "And the mask you chose is so beautiful as well," she added. "You are gonna look amazing at the masquerade, especially with the hairdo you want, it goes along perfectly well with the rest of the costume," she said, nodding approvingly.

She then blushed lightly and tugged at her costume a little more. "That's my point Dora, I think I fill it a little too well. Maybe I should get something which will be a little more loose around my body, this looks like a second skin," she said biting her bottom lip.

A loud thud could be heard echoing though the fourth floor corridor every time one Severus Snape took a step. His heavy black boots responsible for the sound. His black eyes scanned the hall as he walked, looking through the curtains of his long black hair that more times than not was hanging in his face. He heaved a heavy sigh as he got closer to the Prefect’s bathroom, his destination. He didn’t normally use this room, he figured why bother. He would just use the restroom that everyone else did. This year however, he had a different approach on his thinking. It would be his final year at Hogwarts and he figured that he mine as well make the best of it. The best included using this room that was off limits to pretty much the whole school. He also would rather be alone right now. Alone meant, he didn’t have to deal with anyone. On the slight chance that there was someone in the room, none of them talked to him anyway except for Narcissa Black. She would be glad company for him anyway, she was, at least, in his inner circle. His thoughts drifted to last year when he entered the very room he was headed towards. Narcissa was just getting out of the luxurious tub when he walked in. Luckily for her, she had just enough time to half way wrap herself in a towel, covering the parts that ought to be covered but leaving enough exposed to put a rare smile on Severus’ face.

His thoughts then drifted to the upcoming Masquerade dance that they were having. He thought it completely ridiculous and had not Lucius talked him into it he wouldn’t be caught dead at a place like that. A bunch of people dressed in ridiculous costumes, wearing masks so no one would know who anyone else was? What was the fun it that? He asked Lucius as well as himself. He would much rather stay in the common room, working on a new spell for Narcissa’s little group she was forming. Maybe he would play sick the night of the dance, or just flat out tell his best friend Lucius that he wasn’t going.

He reached for the door knob on the door into the Prefects bathroom and slowly began to turn it and opened the door.

"Of coarse I couldn't behave myself that long. You know my more mischievous traits." Dora laughed. "Oh come on now, if we don't get caught then we could try it again, couldn't we?" She asked, giving her friend a pouting look, trying to look innocent. Marlene knew her well and Dorcas was about as innocent as Sirius was, well, maybe not quite as bad as him but she was definitely close.

Dora smiled as Marley told her how she looked in the dress. "You look amazing as well. If Sirius drops to his feet I am sure that it will only be to duck from James or Peter pulling a prank on him. I do hope that he behaves himself." She giggled a bit and bit down on her lower lip as her thoughts once more turned to Sirius and how close they were getting. "I am sure you will do a spectacular job on my hair. If only muggle hair stylists knew how to use a wand." She laughed again.

Looking over at her friend she could still see that she was feeling self conscious about her dress and the way that it fit. "Look, it fits you perfectly. You are just not used to seeing yourself in this kind of dress. Trust me, you wear this and Remus will be eating out of the palm of your hand all night. It looks great. I would tell you if it......"

Just as she was in the middle of her sentence she heard the door open to the bathroom. "Someone’s coming!" She shrieked and ran to the window next to where she had gotten dressed. Her heart was racing as she pulled the curtain over herself and prayed that no one would catch her here. What was she going to do if they stayed half of the night? She would die if Marley got in trouble for taking her in here. She mentally damned herself for thinking of the idea in the first place.

Marlene sighed and rolled her eyes slightly, though she could feel herself giving in. She always did, and she knew that if her friend once more asked her to sneak her into the prefect's bathroom for whatever reason, she probably would even though it was forbidden. However, she couldn't help but have a bad feeling about all this. The last thing she wanted to do was to get in trouble, but she didn't want Dora to either - though she herself would probably be in more trouble than her friend, considering she was the one who was the prefect, and so who knew the password and had let her friend in, though she was no suposed to.

Then she smiled a little mischievously, raising an eyebrow at her friend. "Sirius behaving himself? My dear Dora, you don't actually believe that possible at such a big event, do you?" she asked teasingly. She knew perfectly well Sirius could behave himself, sometimes, but she did like to tease her friend. Besides, even though he could behave, would he really miss such a great oportunity, with so many people to prank in the room? Marlene couldn't quite believe that. "And I promise I will try my best for your hair, even if that means having to tie you to the chair," she said with a light grin.

She let out a small sigh at her friend's comment about her dress, blushing slightly when she mentionned Remus and frowning when Dora stopped talking, not quite understanding why until she turned to look at the door and saw it opening. She had thought she had heard a noise in the corridor but she hadn't been quite sure - now she knew what that sound had been. Her heartbeat quickened as Dora hid behind the curtain and she stood in front of it, hoping her presence there would keep the other prefect's attention away from the hidden form of her best friend.

"This was a bad idea, this was such a bad idea," she kept repeating mentally to herself, taking deep breaths and trying to calm down. "Please let it be Remus, or Ted, or anybody but a Slytherin Prefect, please God," she pleaded in thought, shutting her eyes tightly before opening them to see who was entering the room, biting her bottom lip so hard that it hurt a little as she played with the skirt of her costume nervously. "I'm in trouble..." she muttered to herself.

He entered the room, pushing a few strands of his black hair out of his eyes as he walked in. He saw no one, at least not yet and made his way over towards the bath, his boots thudding and echoing even louder on the white marble floor than they were in the corridor.

As he reached the spot next to the large bathtub he bent down slightly and started to untie one of the laces to his boots. His curtain of dark hair fell over his eyes and he tossed his head to the side a bit to shake the hair off of his face, that's when he spotted Marlene McKinnon standing there by the window.

He stood back up to his normal posture quickly, running an irritated hand through his hair, a wicked smirk on his pale face. He really didn't know Marlene too well. Never talked to her. She did not run with his kind of people so he never had reason to discuss anything with her. He stood there looking at her and thought it a bit odd that she was standing stationary but shrugged it off. He walked over towards her, the smirk still on his lips as he approached her.

"You might want to let someone know that you are in here if they don't see you first, especially when you see them starting to remove articles of their attire." He said to her, his voice dry and without emotion. It was then that his eyes spotted a pair of shoes behind the curtain. They definitely belonged to a member of the female population of Hogwarts. It couldn't be Narcissa, she wouldn't stay in the room with Marlene there so that only left a few more possible Prefects. But, they were behind the curtain. Had someone been snuck in that might not belong there? He asked himself.

Without saying another word he walked passed Marlene and walked to the curtain, gripping it tightly in his hand and angrily yanked it to the right. Whoever it was, if they did not belong there was going to hear it from him. He looked at who was standing behind it, really looked, and his anger dissapeared the moent he saw her. It was Dorcas Meadowes, another girl he had barely spoken to in his seven years at the school though he had had more conversations with her than with Marlene. She looked absolutely stunning in the pale green dress that she was wearing, her long golden hair falling perfectly on her shoulders. He couldn't really say anything for a few moments, he just simply stared at her, a small smirk on his lips. "You are not supposed to be in here you know." He told her in a quiet tone. "I wont say anything though." What am I saying? He asked himself. "If it's not too forward of me, I must say, you look like an angel in that dress." What the HELL am I saying? He asked himself again. He wasn't sure what was coming over him, but whatever it was, he was quite sure he had never felt this way around any other girl before, and he knew now, that if she was wearing that to the dance, he was definitely going.

Dora stood behind the curtain, her heart still racing like crazy. The person had entered the room, she could hear the loud thud they made as they walked but she had no idea who it was. She assumed by Marley's silence that it wasn't either Remus or Ted. They were prefects and friends of hers. A sick feeling came to her stomach at the silence in the room. She prayed whoever it was would leave as quickly as they arrived.

A few moments later she heard the thudding sound stop but she knew that they hadn't left the room yet. "Just leave." She whispered so that no one else could hear her. As she stood there behind the curtain she heard the thumping start back up again and this time, whoever it was, was coming towards the area that they were. "Oh no." She whispered again and then held her breath, afraid to move or even to breathe.

She then heard the person talking to Marley, she knew that voice, she recognized it but couldn't quite place it. Just as these thoughts entered her mind the curtain she was standing behind was quickly ripped open, revealing her to the person who did it. It was Severus Snape, a seventh year Slytherin. Dora never had any problems with him but she never really cared for him. He hung around with the Blacks, Lucius Malfoy and Regulas and Rudolphus, definitely not ones that she would associate with. She opened her mouth to reply to his comment about her being there but she closed it again as he continued talking to her. "Thank you." She whispered as he said that he wouldn't tell anyone. She was surprised by this, but she wasn't about to question him on it.

"If it's not too forward of me, I must say, you look like an angel in that dress." She heard him say and a small smile graced her lips. A compliment coming from Severus was quite odd. Normally she would come back with some kind of comment to make but she figured she better not say too much. He could change his mind and decide to tell someone she was in there and that would get Marley into trouble. "Thank you Severus." She said looking up at him and then looking down at her dress. "It's obviously my dress for the Masquerade coming up. I am in here because I didn't want anyone to see me in it before the dance, but I guess someone did, you." She smiled at him and then looked over to Marlene. "I'm sorry that I talked you into letting me in here, it was wrong and I shouldn't have let you give into my relentless whining and nagging." She then looked back to Severus. "We will just leave now, and thanks again for not saying anything."

Marlene couldn't help but let out a small whimper as Severus Snape entered the room. She knew she should have said something to make her presence known as he had obviously not noticed her, but she was frozen on the spot and couldn't get any word to come out of her mouth. When he finally did notice her, her face paled visibly at the wicked smirk on his face. "I... I'm sorry," she said weakly at his comment, wishing she would disappear as his eyes drifted to the floor. She quickly glanced down as well and noticed that Dora's shoes were visible even though the rest of her body was hidden by the curtain. She looked back up to see Severus making his way toward the curtain and quickly moved before he moved her himself, knowing if she stayed where she was - which was right next to the curtain - he wouldn't have been able to open it. She closed her eyes and waited for him to say they were both in trouble, but when she heard the words that left his mouth, a shocked expression appeared on her face, quickly replaced by one of relief as she opened her eyes again, nodding feebly as Dora thanked him.

As he complimented Dora on her dress, the look on her face returned to one of shock, but she decided to make no comment. She didn't want to get herself into trouble considering she had just gotten out of it. She listened to Dora carefully as she spoke to him, nodding weakly as she apoloziged for asking her to sneak her in.

"It's alright, I should have said no in the first place," she managed to say before her friend said that they should leave now. Marlene glanced sideways at Severus and then down at her costume, biting her bottom lip lightly. "We... we have to change first," she said shyly, not able to directly ask him to leave while they did so. She knew that if he didn't get the poor hint she had just given, she would most likely leave with her costume on.

He continued looking at Dorcas, not really able to keep his eyes off of her, something that never happened. He was finally starting to understand why Lucius was always looking at Narcissa, she was a beauty but Severus knew better than to look twice at her, his best friend would most likely smack him over the head with that cane he took with him everywhere. Seeing Dorcas, the way she looked, her hair, her smile, he just couldn't think straight, a feeling that he disliked to say the least, and she was a Ravenclaw, which made it worse. Not as bad as a Gryffindor, but still. Then again, his family didn't have the strict policies about being with someone of certain status like the Black's and the Malfoy's did. He himself was a halfblood with a muggle for a father.

"I suppose I understand why you wouldn't want anyone to see you before the dance, after all, no one is supposed to know who anyone is, an idea that makes no sense to me what-so-ever." He shrugged a bit, containing the grin that he so desperatley was fighting off towards her. "I will say that I am glad that I got the chance to see it, though I am sure you could care less." He shugged his shoulders a bit and then turned to face Marlene.

"Under normal circumstances I would frown on another Prefect bringing someone who doesn't belong here in here, but tonight, let's call it a weak moment for me, a lucky moment for the two of you, I will ignore what I have just seen." He further listened to Marlene as she explained that her and Dorcas had to change before they could leave. He wanted to stay a bit longer, maybe get the chance to talk to Dorcas a bit more, after all, she had made him feel a few rather strange things he had never felt before and he wanted to explore it a bit, but he decided against it, it probably wasn't the best idea and it was most likely the last thing that he needed.

Focusing on Dorcas one more time, he looked into her blue eyes with his dark ones and held them there for a few moments. "I guess i'll be seeing you around then? At the Masquerade anyway." He then turned on his heel and slowly walked out of the room, his boots once more thudding across the floor as he walked.

Marlene stood very still as he talked, feeling uneasy to say the least. This was definitely not what she'd have expected from him but she was somehow glad of the way it had turned out. At least, she wouldn't be in trouble. She felt a bit angry at Dora for making her do it, but she was mostly angry at herself for giving in - after all, it was not Dora's fault if she had accepted to sneak her in. She should have known better than to do it and she really shouldn't be mad at her friend. As Severus turned to her, Marlene found herself very interested by her shoes as she looked down shyly, feeling very uncomfortable. She knew he was right - she shouldn't have brought someone here, and it was her own fault that she had done so. And they were indeed lucky that he had decided not to say anything, though it seemed lightly out of character. She was not going to push her luck though.

As he left the room, she sighed of relief and pinched the bridge of her nose lightly before turning to her friend, a light frown on her face. "Like said, first and only time we did this Dora," she said, shaking her head. "This could have turned out so much worse, we could have been caught by a professor, or he could have told on us. Now I know I'm being annoying but wanting to stay out of trouble so much but that's just how I am, so sorry but I'm never bringing you here again," she said, shaking her head. She didn't want her friend to be annoyed or mad at her, that was for sure, and she knew that what she had just said would probably be of no importance if Dora asked her to bring her one more time - she was not known to say no. But at the moment she was still feeling nervous and her heartbeat hadn't yet gone back to its normal speed.

"Now we have to leave," she sighed, glancing at her watch. It was very late and if they got caught while walking back to their Common Room, or if another prefect decided to come for a late night bath, they might not be as lucky as they had just been. She bit her bottom lip lightly and ran a hand through her hair nervously. "I hope I won't fall asleep in class tomorrow, I know I won't get much sleep tonight," she sighed as she started taking off her costume, tossing the several article of clothing aside.

Dorcas watched as Severus left the room and finally she took a deep breath and sighed in relief. "Wow, that was a bit too close, don't you think? He seems alright, not at all the reaction I expected from a Slytherin." She looked over at Marlene who still looked a bit pale. She had assumed, the minute that she knew it was Snape that it would be all over for the two of them. She had always thought of him as someone that would do whatever he could to move himself ahead. Maybe she was wrong about him or maybe the two of them just caught him on a good night. Whichever, she just knew she was glad that she wasn't going to have to get murdered by her best friend.

"I know, I know, I wont ask to come here again, but relax, it could have been way worse. What do you suppose stopped him from squeeling on us?" She asked, an inquisitive look on her face. She certainly expected to get thrown out of there. She was thankful that her friend wasn't going to get into trouble though.

"Yes, let's get out of here." She saw that Marley was starting to remove her costume and she did the same, standing very close to the curtain in case she had to make another mad dash behind it. Once undressed form her costume and re-dressed in her normal clothing she walked over to Marley. "Again, I am sorry. I will try to be a little less pushy from now on, alright?" She said, her lips turning a bit of a mischievious smile.

"So, what now?"

Remus was annoyed, or well maybe not annoyed, frustrated would be the most correct term to describe how he was feeling. Eyebrows were drawn together, and his lips were thinned pressed together. He was thinking about the ball, and was actually a bit nervous about it. Not sure about the costume he had picked out, and he didn't know what Marlene would be wearing either. There was that whole comfort level that was shot to hell. A sigh escaped him, and he tried to relax his shoulders. Having been tense he was a bit sore, and he had decided that a hot bath would relieve him of most of the kinks or at least would relax him.

It was also rather quiet there. Arriving, he reached out and turned the knob and pushed the door open. He took a step forward only to drawl up short. Dorcas was dressed, but Marlene was still in the process of undressing. "O -oh.." he stuttered, his cheeks turning red.

Marlene sighed as she nodded at Dora, knowing she hadn't meant for this to happen... well obviously she hadn't meant for this to happen. She bent down to grab her costume, folding it neatly before looking around for her own clothes. "You know, I'm still not sure about this whole Masquerade Ball thing," she sighed. "I don't even know what Remus is going as, what if I spend the whole evening standing alone in my corner and looking silly? Real fun that's gonna be," she said, shaking her head. She really was not one to go to those kind of events, and she knew that she probably wouldn't even have considered going if Dora hadn't talked her into it... and there was also the fact that Remus had asked her if he would see her there and she had not been able to say no.

As Dora spoke up, Marlene sighed. "Well now I'm just gonna get dressed if you don't mind, and then we're going back to the Common Room and..." she stopped in her tracks when she noticed the doorknob turning once more and her breath caught in her throat as the door flung open to reveal Remus. She sighed of relief, glad that it wasn't someone else, but the relief was short lived as she realized she was still wearing nothing but her underwear. She froze down completely, her face turning a very deep shade of red as her breathing sped up slightly and she bit her bottom lip, unable to look away, move or say anything.

Dorcas looked towards the door as she heard it besin to open again. She hoped and prayed it was Severus, anyone else would catch her in here and Marlene would get into trouble. There was no time to try and hide behind the curtain again, whoever it was was already entering.

She let out a sigh of relief when she saw it was Remus. He wouldn't turn her in for being here. Him and Marly had gotten closer over the past few days. Her eyes drifted towards her best friend to see her reaction to Remus entering and that's when she remembered she was only in her undergarmets. How embarrasing, but it would have been quite a bit more embarrasing had it been Severus again.

She walked over to Marlene and eyed her for a moment, not exactly sure what to do in this situation. If she left, Marly might kill her for leaving her there in such a situation. If she stayed, Marly might kill her for not giving her this chance with Remus. Walking up close to her friend, she bent down to whisper in her ear so Remus couldn't hear her. "What am I supposed to do? Stay or leave? Whatever you want, I will do it."

The lack of clothing did not go unnoticed, and Remus' face felt as if it was on fire. Realizing that it was probably rude to gawk he turned around swiftly, his hand upon side of the door. He cleared his throat.

Honestly, he doubted she wanted him to just ogle her. Their relationship, whatever it might be titled, was still tentative. He'd rather he not run her off just now, and so he did the gentlemanly thing and said, "I'll just .. wait outside then, until your decent." Remus felt like hitting himself for sounding so stupid.

As Dora came closer to her and spoke up, Marlene didn't say a word to answer her question. Instead, she simply grabbed her friends arms and pulled her to stand in front of her so that she was shielding her from Remus' view, who looked as though he was just as embarassed as she was. As he turned to face the door, his words hardly even reached her ears - she was feeling too embarassed to hear or understand anything. As he left the room, she let out a sigh of relief and let go of Dora's arms, taking her face between her hands as she shook her head.

"Well now it doesn't matter what I wear to that stupid Masquerade anyway," she muttered to herself, groaning slightly.

She bent down to pick up her clothes and quickly got dressed, making sure that almost every inch of skin was hidden from view except for her face and hands. To a certain extent, she was glad it was Remus who had entered the room and seen her that way - had it been another boy she would probably have died. Yet, it didn't make her feel any less uncomfortable to know he had seen her wearing almost nothing, especially considering the fact she hardly even was comfortable with being seen in her underwear by other girls. When she was younger, she remembered hiding in a corner when changing for gym classes, and she sure had less to hide then than she did now. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she nervously played with her hands, turning to look at Dora.

"What should I do now?" she asked, a hint of panic in her voice.

She watched Remus' very gentlemanly actions of turning around so Marly could get dressed. She wondered if Sirius would have done the same. 'Most likely not,' she told herself and a slight smile formed on her lips.

She saw Marly get dressed and she looked up at her when she spoke to her. "At least he didn't see your costume. You in your underwear yes, but not your costume." She laughed lightly and took a step away to safely distajnce herself from her best friend if she was about to smack her.

"What should you do now? First of all, tell him you are dressed, second, take this opportunity to talk to him. I think I am going to head back to the common room, I still need to get the potions essay finished that's due tomorrow. Tell me what happens later, I'll wait up for you." She walked back over to Marlene and gave her a hug then collected her dress in her arms and walked towards the door.

"She's dressed now Remus. You have a good night. Talk to you soon." She flashed him a quick smile and then walked out the door and headed towards the Ravenclaw tower.
